Outage

Resolved: Tuesday, 4 October 16:36

Following the improvements around the stability of our wifi environments already reported last week, some more improvements were also applied on Friday. Including a minor upgrade of the software.
By all accounts, it seems that the environment is now stable.
Both Friday and Monday also saw digital tests being taken, sometimes with more than 1,000 candidates at a time.
No problems were observed in these. We therefore consider the problems solved.
Naturally, we will continue to monitor this environment intensively for the time being.

Update Wednesday 28 september 15:30

Supplementary to the previous update, to avoid a misunderstanding:
The WIFI environment is also constantly monitored on a regular basis, and following this disruption this is being intensified. Monitoring will be intensified for as long as necessary.

Update Wednesday 28 september 12:10

The findings of the last 24 hours are such that there seems to be structural improvement. However, there is no complete certainty, the monitoring is being extended by one day, due to the expected traffic between 10:00 and 14:00 on Thursday on the affected networks.

PRIO 1 Malfunction – WIFI Networks Unstable

Since last week we have been experiencing problems in our WIFI environment, especially on the Utrecht University and Eduroam networks. As a result, especially at the busiest times (around noon) we experience problems with logging in or with lack of bandwidth. We are currently investigating the cause of this disruption.
